Royal Bengal Tigers

Tigers are one of most endangered species in world today .

At the turn of 20,000 century the Bengal Tiger population in India was estimated to be around 40,000 .In 1972 however , the first Indian tiger census was conducted revealing the existence of only 1,827 tigers . Former prime minister of India Indira Gandhi an avid animal lover , passed the first animal protection act , which placed the tigers in the first schedule of endangered species . She also established Project Tiger in 1972 , an extremely successful conservation venture that formed "tiger reserves " where tigers roam free where hunting is forbidden . Later WWF (World Wildlife Fund) contributed much funding to project tiger . According to the latest census figures as of 2007, tiger population in India further dropped; particularly in state of Madhyapradesh where 65 percent of tigers got vanished , and in certain states of India there are less than over 100 tigers only .

Save Tigers as their are not many left .Today they can only be found in some parts of India and Siberia .
